SUMMARY:Chelsey Ebert Celebrity Dinner\, Golf & Auction
DESCRIPTION:The Chelsey Celebrity Dinner\, Golf and Auction was created to fulfill the dream of Chelsey and her father\, Jay Ebert\, to provide for the advancement of education for Ferndale High School students.  This Scholarship awards two FHS senior girls each year\, one from basketball and one from volleyball to be used at any University or school the students select.  Since we started this in 2008 we have added all Whatcom County High Schools and through 2015 we have presented over 90 scholarships to senior girls who are continuing education. \n\nChelsey was 15 when she was diagnosed in March 2007 with a rare type of osteosarcoma (pronounced: os-tee-oh-sar-koh-muh) cancer in her left hip area. She loved to play all sports from pre-school all the way to high school and was always on AAU or a select team and worked hard to show she deserved to be a member of each of those teams\, she never took this for granted. Chelsey was always looking forward to the upcoming season no matter what sport. In December 2007\, she lost her 9-month battle with cancer.\n\nThe event has grown from a small golf tournament to one of the largest charity events in Whatcom County.  With over 400 dinner guests\, 160 golfers and more than 20 sports celebrities including but not limited to current and retired NFL players\, this event continues to grow.  With growth comes more opportunities for the Chelsey Ebert Trust to return almost 100% of the proceeds back into the community and support even more causes that Chelsey would have agreed with. \n\nFor more information\, or to register for the dinner & auction\, please follow the link.
